Guest Talk
Prof. Frederic Meunier
Single Molecule Neuroscience Group
Frederic Meunier is a Professor at the Queensland Brain Institute in Brisbane, Australia.
The Single Molecule Neuroscience Group is interested in how brain cells communicate and survive in health and disease, focusing on the molecular events that govern vesicular trafficking within presynaptic nerve terminals and neurosecretory cells.
In his talk 'Surprisingly dynamic "clustering" of synaptic vesicles at the nanoscale' Frederic Meunier shared how he and his group are using live super-resolution microscopy as well as advance image analysis approaches to explore actin dynamics and presynaptic organization in mammalian neurons.
