Single Molecule Biophysics Course 2026

Learn Single-Molecule Biophysics by Doing! Curious about single-molecule techniques or ready to take your expertise to the next level? Our five-day Single-Molecule Biophysics Course brings together theory, methods, and plenty of hands-on experience.

Throughout the week, participants will explore Markov models, single-channel recordings, and TIRF microscopy, combining focused lectures with exciting practical experiments. With our experienced and enthusiastic tutors by your side, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, troubleshoot, and get hands-on with the techniques.

The course is designed primarily for PhD students and postdocs, but we also welcome PIs and advanced MSc students as well as technical staff with a strong interest in single-molecule biophysics. And because every group is different, we want the course to be shaped by the people taking part: we are happy to adapt the practical sessions and discussions to your interests, questions, and needs wherever possible.
